  • What is the difference between acupuncture and acupressure massage?
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medicine that involves placing tiny pins into specific points on the body to treat pain and many other health concerns. An acupressure massage session is a targeted acupuncture point stimulation massage without the use of needles. Some tools used include gua sha, cupping and of course, my hands! I offer 30, 60 and 90 minute treatments on the face, hands and feet. Both treatment types are very relaxing and a great option to address health issues.

  • What can I expect during an acupuncture session?
After we go over your health history form, we will discuss exactly what I will be doing to treat you specifically. Afterwards, I will get you to lay down on my table and place approximately 10-20 acupuncture pins throughout your body for your specific needs. Once those are placed, you will then relax for 30 mins while listening to my calming music in the dimly lit room. Most of my clients tend to fall asleep so it is a very relaxing environment.
  • Does acupuncture hurt?
Generally, no! Most of my clients find that I am very gentle and quick with my insertions so there should be little to no pain. If you are nervous, just let me know before our session starts and I will do my best to make you feel very comfortable and relaxed. I do not rush when it comes to this part :) Still not convinced? Try an acupressure massage first to get introduced to this world of holistic medicine!
